Dr. Kelly Lashinsky
Elementary School Principal, Richland School District
With over 17 years of experience in education and a commitment to fostering academic excellence, I currently serve as the Principal at Richland Elementary School, a role I've held since February 2024.
My journey in education began with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Kindergarten Education from Pennsylvania State University in 2004. Building upon this foundation, I obtained a Master's degree in Literacy and a Reading Specialist Certificate from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2010. Recognizing the importance of effective leadership in shaping educational outcomes, I completed my Principal Certification from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2016. In 2020, I earned my Ph.D. from Robert Morris University, furthering my dedication to advancing educational practices and scholarship.
Before assuming my current position at Richland Elementary School, I worked in various educational settings. For eight years, I served as the Assistant Principal at Richland Elementary School. I commenced my administrative career at Westmont Hilltop High School. I dedicated a decade to the Central Cambria School District, where I served as both a 5th-grade teacher and a 6th-grade ELA teacher. This diverse background has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of educational dynamics and the ability to navigate diverse learning environments effectively.
In my role as Principal, I am deeply committed to cultivating a supportive and enriching learning environment where every student can thrive. I firmly believe in the power of effective instruction, high expectations, and fostering a sense of citizenship within our school community to drive academic success for all students. My overarching goal is to create a hospitable atmosphere conducive to learning and growth and to empower every student to pursue excellence every day!
