About me
Hello and welcome to my webpage! I am Chad Duryea and this is my seventh year teaching at the Richland School District and my sixteenth year overall in the teaching profession. I received my Bachelors of Education (Health and Physical Education / Drivers Education) from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and I received my Masters of Education (Leadership: Principal K-12) from the California University of Pennsylvania. At Richland High School, I teach Adapted Physical Education, Individual/Team Sports, Personal Fitness, Weight Training, Seventh and Eighth Grade Physical Education, GJCTC Physical Education, and Yoga.
In addition to teaching, I am also a volunteer coach for the Varsity Boys Soccer team here at the Richland School District. I currently hold an Advanced National Diploma from the United Soccer Coaches and I also hold a National D License from the United States Soccer Federation. Being a Richland alumni and former soccer player (Class of 2003), I am really excited to work with the talented student athletes of the Richland School District. I am also a coach for our Unified Bocce Ball. Our Bocce Ball team is a part of the Special Olympics PA Interscholastic Unified Sports (IUS). This program is a fully-inclusive co-ed after school high school sports program which successfully brings together students with and without intellectual disabilities. They train and compete as equal teammates and through this experience, become friends.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my beautiful wife, our energetic young son, our amazing young daughter, and our crazy German Shepherd named Walter! If you have any questions or concerns throughout the school year, please do not hesitate to contact me!
